Sagres in Portugal ownes its fame mainly to its special geographical situation
and the general belief that Henry the Navigator founded his naval school
here. The Fortress is a tourist attraction, the mystical impact comes from
the feeling to be at the "End of the World".
In one of the buildings within the fortress there is an exhibition to visit
where you can learn something about the local flora and fauna from video
material.
The coastline and surroundings from the village are a composition of bizarre rock landscapes with hidden canyons and golden beaches, where non-diving family members can have a good time, with other activities like windsurfing at the Martinhal beach, fishing, bicycle trips along the coast or just being lazy at the beach.
